Yala National Park is Sri Lanka’s most iconic wildlife destination — a land of forests, lagoons, and golden plains where nature thrives freely. Home to leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 130 bird species, Yala offers one of the best wildlife experiences in Asia.
Our safaris take place in Yala Block 1, the main and most famous region of the park, known for its high leopard population and scenic landscapes.
About Yala Block I
Covering nearly 14,000 hectares, Block 1 is the most explored and wildlife-rich area of Yala. Its diverse habitats — from open scrubland to dense forest and rocky plains — create the perfect environment for spotting many animal species.
Every safari through Block 1 is different — sometimes you see leopards sunbathing on rocks, elephants walking through the forest, or deer grazing beside peacocks in the morning light.

6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Daily)
Best Time for Safari:
Early morning and late afternoon — when wildlife is most active.
Entrance Tickets:
Entrance tickets are not included in our safari package. Our driver will assist you in purchasing your ticket at the main entrance before the safari begins.
Midday Break:
During full-day safaris, Yala National Park closes for a short midday break — from 12.00PM to 2.00PM. This quiet time allows animals to drink water, rest, and move freely without vehicles or human noise disturbing them. Visitors also take this time to relax inside the park, often near scenic beachside or riverside areas. You can enjoy your meal, stretch, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere while the park restores its natural rhythm.
